South Korean alternative pop-rock band Catch The Young brought its “youth pop-rock” sound to Berlin on September 19, opening the first night of the 2026 K-INDIE ON Festival at Säälchen.
Hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Germany, K-INDIE ON Festival has been held annually since 2023 as a showcase for Korean music beyond K-pop. This year’s two-day festival continued September 20 at Holzmarkt.
Catch The Young, consisting of Namhyun, Kihoon, Sani, Junyong and Jungmo, performed a 13-song set that included “Amplify,” the title track from the band’s first full-length album, EVOLVE.
“The incredible passion and energy from the Berlin audience really pushed us to give it our all,” Sani said following the performance.
The group also added a distinctly local touch to its set with a cover of German singer Nena’s 1983 hit “99 Luftballons.” [Watch the video performance clip on their Instagram.]
According to the band’s representatives, flashlights from the audience filled the venue during the ballad numbers before the atmosphere shifted as Catch The Young moved into its more upbeat material. The “99 Luftballons” cover received an especially enthusiastic response from the Berlin crowd.
“It was a great opportunity for us to perform at K-INDIE ON FESTIVAL. I’m proud of all our members,” Jungmo said.
From Berlin to Latin America
The Berlin appearance comes as Catch The Young continues expanding its international activities.
The band is preparing to embark on its first Latin America tour, Catch The Young LIVE EVOLVE: LATAM TOUR 2026. The tour will begin in Mexico City before continuing to Puerto Rico, Buenos Aires and Santiago.
The tour takes its name from EVOLVE, Catch The Young’s first full-length album.

Catch The Young debuted under Evermore Entertainment on November 1, 2023, with its first mini album, Catch The Young : Fragments of Youth.
The five-member band describes its musical identity as “youth pop-rock,” combining alternative pop-rock with multi-vocal harmonies and band-focused performances while exploring the emotions and experiences associated with youth.
Since their debut, Catch The Young has appeared at several Korean music festivals, including the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival and Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival.
With its Berlin performance now complete and its first Latin America tour ahead, Catch The Young is continuing to bring its sound to audiences beyond South Korea.
